City of Rijeka, the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka and the Jadran Hotels dd, hosted the shooting of the first Croatian culinary travelogue in English Croatia’s Finest starring the British MasterChef Dhruv Baker. One of the first stations in the city was the market. ‘Walking between all this fresh fruit, vegetables and spices I was particularly caught by one smell, the smell of -fresh tomatoes. At that moment my association was a cold Spanish soup based on tomatoes and raw vegetables called gazpacho.

I just knew that this is the dish that I’m going to prepare here, in this town’- firmly said Dhruv Baker.  After the market Mr.Baker headed to the candy store Cukerin in which he tasted cake called Old Town, and then he headed towards Stancija Kovačić in which he tasted grašnjaki, authentic dish of pasta filled with meat ragout fried in deep oil in a sauce of young peas with fresh grated truffles and lamb shank with clams on the flavored range. After tasting Mr.Baker walked through the Corso, visited the Governor’s Palace and the promenade along the river and after he stopped at the tavern Fiume where he was welcomed by fish soup from a shark and stingray served on rice, carrots, parsley and grilled scampi. ‘The town of Rijeka is one of my favorite Croatian cities! In addition to beautiful architecture and fascinating history, I was deeply impressed by the unique atmosphere of the city. Relaxed, infused with art and open to all – the city in which you can truly let go and enjoy yourself’- said British MasterChef.  Having met with local flavors and aromas Mr.Baker headed to Trsat Gradina, where he was welcomed by Zametska ringers. After their performance g.Baker prepared gazpacho on one of the tower.
